1 Introduction
This page will provide information about how you become the best best DotA manager ever. As a DotA manager it is your ability to control your character in a manner, which provides optimum conditions for training and playing DotA. Of course a little luck doesn't hurt, but basically it is your interaction with the site, which will define your rate of success.
2 Getting started
When visiting the page for the first time, you will have to create a user account for holding your personal information. A user-account can be created for free in less than 1 minute. If you havent yet gotten a user account you can register here.
The data you enter during the user registration is solely used by the site itself. We do not provide email addresses nor any other credentials from the userbase to other sites or companies. The data acquired is only used to enhance your experience of the current site.
After creating your user account you are ready to play the game. The game will revolve around your players, which you have the responsibility of training and managing contracts for. In order to do this you will first have to acquire a player.
3 Creating a new player
Creating a player is done through the 'Create player' page. A player is a virtual character whos main interest revolves around the DotA game. Your player will in the beginning hold some basic skills in the game of DotA, and it is then your task to make the player as good at his game as possible.
The skill of your player in the game is defined by a series of factors. Mainly the player stats and the heroes your player is able to play holds a key importance in how well your player will perform during a battle.
3.1 Player statistics
3.1.1 Lasthit
The lasthit ability describes how good your player is at targeting the creeps with very little HP in order get the last hit. By getting the last hit your player will receive the gold for killing the kreep, and hence gain money faster during a match.
A players ability to gain money will affect how (s)he retreives new or better items during a match.
3.1.2 Kill
The kill ability describes how good your player is at killing other heroes. The higher kill ability the better your player will be at hunting the other players heroes and slaying them.
3.1.3 Survive
The survive ability describes how good your player is at surviving in the battlefield. This involves retreating at the correct times and knowing when not to engage in a battle with other heroes. Not dying will benefit the team in the long run, as a dead hero cant do much damage.
3.1.4 Deny
The deny ability describes your players ability to avoid opposing players from getting the last hit on creeps. This is done by targeting ones own creeps when their hitpoints are extremely low, thereby avoiding the opposing players a chance to kill the creeps and gain money.
3.1.5 Speed
The speed ability describes how fast your player is at reacting to the game. A fast player will be better at getting back to the base and defending, whereas a slow player may keep slaying creeps for a while, while the enemy bashes away on the base. Likewise a slow player will be less efficient at changing lanes when required.
3.1.6 Heroes
The heroes ability descirbes how many heroes your player can specialize in. A new player will normally be able to control 3 different heroes. By increasing your heroes ability your player will be allowed to play more different heroes. The possibility in specializing in a number of heroes is important, as your player will play better with heroes (s)he is specialized in.
3.1.7 Condition
Playing a DotA game at a professional level is hard work and far from relaxing. Some players will be able to play every day, whereas others will need a break with regular intervals. The players condition ability describes how well (s)he is able to keep on playing without reducing the stamina. When first the player starts getting tired (s)he will play worse and worse.
3.1.8 Temper
A players temper describes how good (s)he is at taking defeats. A player with a low temper stat will easyli be affected by prior lost games, and hence play more agressively and foolish during the upcomming matches. Having a high temper will help your player in managing the lows which can come during a DotA players career and make it easier to bounce back.
4 Personal messages
DotA is a team game, and it is important to keep in touch with your teammates. This can be done through the personal messages system. Personal messages is your players key access to communicating with other players, both within the team and from other teams.
4.1 Writing messages
In order to write a message you can always go directly to the create message page. By doing this you need to know either the name of the receiver or the id of the receiver. Note, that messages are sent to the user controlling the player and not the player itself. You will therefore have to enter the username of the user and not the player (s)he controls.
Besides going direcly to the create message page, every team and player page also contains a link to the create message page, which will automatically insert the name of the receiver(s) on the page.
All messages must hold at least one receiver, and several can be added by sepparating the receivers with commas. This allows for sending messages to entire teams at a time if you wish to. In order to allow sending messages to your own team, your own username is allowed to be present in the receivers list. You cannot however send a message to yourself. Your username will simply be ignored from the list of receivers, but the others will receive the message.
After adding the receivers it is simply to add your message and send the message.
4.2 Inbox
The inbox provides you access to received messages. Each message received will be present with its own line holding information about the time it was received and from whom.
In order to read a message you will just have to click the envolope in the left side of the bar. By doing so the message will be opened in the bottom of the screen.
4.3 Outbox
The outbox provides you access to messages you have sent to other users. Each message sent will be present with its own line holding information about the time it was send and from whom.
If you upgrade for a silver account you wil further more be able to see whether or not the receiving users have read and/or deleted your message.
In order to read a message you will just have to click the envolope in the left side of the bar. By doing so the message will be opened in the bottom of the screen.
